Penny Make Over

With the new penny designed being annoucned, I thought I'd post some penny fun facts:

The plural of penny is pence when referring to the amount of money and pennies when referring to the actual coin.

The British idiom, "to spend a penny," means to urinate. The phrase came from when some public toilets used to be coin-operated.

Finding a penny is considered lucky.

Pennies were the very first coin minted in the U.S.

Lincoln's portrait on the penny is the only coin portrait that faces to the right.
